	Christian Audigier Collection January 10, 2009 Here's CSF's opinion on the recent release of the Christian Audigier sunglasses collection. For those who are not familiar with Christian, he is the designer for the Ed Hardy brand, similar to Tom Ford for Gucci or Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. When we first heard that the line was coming we were anticipating something special, something to make up for the disaster that was the Ed Hardy sunglasses line. We were wrong. What we got was a repeat of the Ed Hardy line with the Christian Audigier logo on it. Let us explain why one could expect to see something better from such a designer. Who's been to a Nordstrom recently? You know that store that has $200 Christian Audigier baseball hats and $400 hoodies? These products look like they could turn my cab driver into P Diddy (or whatever he calls himself today at 1:26 am). So we expected to see sunglasses that were on a level with the rest of the brand's products.The collection looks almost identical to the Ed Hardy line, which looked like something that rolled out of a gumball machine. It looks like they just took basic sunglasses shapes and dipped them into a bucket of Ed Hardy/Christian Audigier junk. There seems to be no thought put into the design of the actual frame shape and, needless to say, the quality of these frames is average at best. It is possible that we will see that brand improve with time, but we're doubtful they'll move into a higher price range, which is what they should do. The brand should completely shift direction and improve its quality and design and go after a $500 and up price market and leave the Ed Hardy brand at its $200-$300 price range. As much as we'd love to see the collection succeed and make tons of styles, we just can't see it lasting long or many celebs wearing them, based on this current collection. In closing, we feel like the brand should focus on the frame design first and keep the temple detailing moderate and use a higher quality of material. BTW - it comes with a case that actully looks better than most of the sunglasses.

	Look Familiar? January 9, 2009 We couldn't help but notice this style from Juicy Couture that looked very similar to Barton Perreira's Emmanuelle style. Maybe Juicy decided that if they can't make sunglasses that people like, they could just copy other good brands instead.
